General BOP testing procedures
• Use water to test BOP’s. The reason is that water has less compressibility than mud.
• Make up testing assembly and set in into a wellhead profile. Ensure that the casing valve must be left opened and there must be personnel monitoring the outlet of casing valve all time while testing. You must ensure that personnel who monitor the outlet must stay for from the BOP while it is being tested. The reason behind this step is to prevent pressure build up in the casing if the test plug is leaking.
• Circulate through choke/kill lines, choke manifold, standpipe manifold, and valves to ensure that all lines are full with water. This practice is for preventing pressure dropping off while testing.
• Line up cement unit and rig team shut rams and valves as per each rig specific testing sequence
• Pressure test must be low and high, respectively, and the pressure should be stabilized with minimum bleed off at least 5 minutes. Ensure that pressure recording on a chart is recorded correctly.
• Ensure that any equipment doest not pass a pressure test requirement must be reported to supervisors.
• Continue pressure testing until all equipment is tested as per each rig specific.
• Rig down testing assembly.

API OSHA IADC OPEC RIG ZONE WORLD OIL Drilling Formulas
1.Accumulator group charge pressure time test: Decrease pressure of the remote control panel to 7 Mpa, turn the hydraulic valve to "Middle",start all the pump system to charge pressure of the accumulator group.
2.Pump group auto on-off test(test both electrical pump and pneumatic pump):Reduce the pressure of the accumulator from 21 Mpa to 18.9 Mpa slowly, observe whether the pump can auto start; after the pump strats, raise the ressure to 20.3-21mpa,observe whether it can auto stop.
3.Sealing test for oil circuilt:The pressure of the accumulator is 21 Mpa and the outlet pressure of the annular BOP regulator valve is 10.5 Mpa, block the ends of pip line with plugs, observe the pressure reduce of the 3-position 4-way valve in Middle,Open,Close position.
4.Overflow valve over pressure test: Turn the main switch to the "manual" position, start the pump group and raise the pressure, record the overflow start pressure, and close pressure when the system pressure decease.
5. Gas Seat: Decrease pressure of the remote control panel, the pressure of the air supply is 0.8 Mpa,observe the pressure reduce of the valves in Middle,Open,Close position after cutting off the air supply.
6.Pressure test: Block the end of the tubing end with plugs, close the accumulator check valve,turn the 3-position 4-way valve to the Middle position,open by pass valve, start the pneumatic pump and raise the pressure to 31.5 Mpa, stop the BOP and hold pressure for about 10 min. make sure the components with no obvious distortion, crack and other defect, and record the pressure reduce in 3 min.
7.Pressure test Repeat step 6, hold at 21 Mpa for 24 hours.
8.Control lag time test:The pressure of the regulator is 10.5 Mpa, record the lag time of the operate valves on the driller panel to the 3-position 4-way valve on the remote control panel.
9.Hoisting point test:Perform nondestructive test with welding line before hoisting test.Perform hoisting test according to test load, hoisting speed confirmed in design account for 24h, and then perform nondestructive test with hoisting point.Acceptance rule of nondestructive test:no residual defornation of fault of which main dimension is 1.5mm obove is existant.(It is necerssary to test the item for first product of one model or special requirement of customer)
10.Consistency test: Operate all the valves on the driller panel,observe whether the switch act of the 3-position 4-way valve is accorded with the driller panel.
11.Regulation test of manual regulator valve and pneumatic-manual regulator valve:Close bypass valve,loosen the handwheel fixing nut of manual regulator valve,check the manifold pressure when truning the handwheel.
Set pneumatic rotary valve of remote control panel on "remote control panel",loosen the handwheel locking nut of pneumatic-manual regulator valve,check the pressure of annular BOP when truning the handwheel.
12.Steadiness of annular BOP control manifold pressure:Furnish 2 pressure gauges at "open"and " close" outlet of 3 position 4 way pneumatic rotary for annular BOP.1)Operate the shaft to "Open"and "Close",check and record the change of pressure gauges.2)Decrease upstream pressure to 17.9 mpa by 0.5 mpa per min, check and record the change of pressure gauges.
